Dream BIG--Vision Board workshop!  

Thursday, January 26th, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Chantilly, VA

Start 2017 with clarity, intention and creativity!  Time to gather together and set our intentions for the new year!  This workshop will begin with a short guided meditation to get our ideas flowing.  Then we will create beautiful mixed media collage vision boards with our dreams and desires for the new year.  No art experience necessary.  Just show up and dream big!  Feel free to bring a drink or snack to share.  Cost for this 2 hour class is $35 per person and includes all instruction and supplies.  To register, simply click the button below.  Feel free to email me with any questions at jackietury@gmail.com.  Hope to see you soon!

Summer Sea Series!

Ahhh…summer! Lazy afternoons reading on the back porch, extra time with my children and family, trips to the beach to play in the ocean!  After the successful completion of the "Music in Art" show, I am more than ready to relax into summer!  The first thing on my summer "to do" list was to get a stack of good books for summer reading.  I started with "Language of Flowers" and loved this book so much, it will be hard to top.  The next thing on my list was to create a new Sea themed series based on the "dream big" whale I painted last summer.  I painted a new "dream big" whale and added a mermaid "reach for the stars," a fish "dare to be different," and a snail "go at your own pace."  I hope to take this series down to the beach with me, which is next on my list!   As always, if you are interested in purchasing one of my colorful artful affirmations just send me an email at jackietury@gmail.com.  Happy summer!

New Art: Back to School & Dream Big!

 I was inspired to create "Back to School" by this bittersweet time of year.  Tomorrow my daughters and I all head back to school.  We enjoy school/work, but hate saying goodbye to summer.  In "Back to School," I was able to incorporate bits and pieces of my daughters' homework and my kindergarteners' drawings into my collage.  Wishing everyone a great first day back to school! 

Earlier this summer, I kept having dreams where I would run to the shore to see a whale playfully surfacing in the ocean.  I decided this meant that big creative ideas were about to surface for me!  This dream inspired my new colorful collage "Dream Big!"

 Don't forget to come by Del Ray Artisans this month for the "It Runs in the Family" show!  The Tury Family Portrait will be on display.  The show runs Sept. 7th through 30th, with an opening reception on Sept. 7th from 7-10 p.m.  See you there!
